I posted on the forum asking if it is possible to get 1000 daily page views in a year and most people think it is.
I though about this and they are right, with a sustained effort today I got page views to over 300 but 150 of them are from HP, not that that is bad, But I thought it is better to have external traffic so what challenge can I set myself to boost this: I am going to try and get my Organic Search results from 150 as it was today 19.01.2012 (see image, this is excluding the HP traffic and the referral traffic) to 1500 by this time next year. That is a 10 fold increase and while it may not be possible I am going to try very hard.
I have one big thing to say, Google Please don't sandbox me. Plus no more Panda's or other beautiful fluffy creatures of destruction.

How am I going to increase the number of organic searches that click through to my Hubs
Ok I guess this is the hard part and as this is the first hub which I am writing on this challenge, I should map out a little game plan of how I’m going to achieve it .
Write Lot's of Hubs
Now I guess this is obvious but if I am going to hit my target then I am going to need to write a lot more, I currently have 67 Hubs and 33 of them are less than a month old so are not bringing in much external traffic yet, so I am hoping that if they are equivalent to the first 34( hopefully better) then my traffic should be around 300 by the end of the year even if I just left it.
I think a fair assessment is that I will need to write 5 times as many as I have now if I maintain traffic levels which would make a total of 335 hubs which is 268 this year or just over 22 per month or 5.5 per week, which seems very doable but it's sustaining that effort.
How will I get clicks from Organic Search Results

Create 1 Science Hub, mostly physics, per week as this is my passion.

Create 1 business Hub each week.

Write 2-3 keyword random topics, probably from sport, climbing, film, pregnancy and maybe a couple of odd ones here and there.
The issue with this is though it may not be practical every week workload depending etc. So I need to be smart what else can I do to increase my chances.
Creating Back Links to improve your search Engine ranking
I will use Social Monkee every day to get 25 free back links as well as social networking and with my business hubs linking my website and blogs to these as appropriate. I will also answer Yahoo questions with links if they are appropriate (I know they are no follow) as extra traffic never hurts. If anybody else knows any other methods, I’d love to hear them.

I know you thought I’d forgotten about this, nope I will write articles about researched keywords. They will be keyword rich with specific tags and keyword rich summaries. I will be making sure that there is a google ad or Amazon capsule above the fold for maximum exposure and potential clicks. All content will be unique and I hope well written, for me anyway.

Targets and Goals
So this is what I am going to do now I realise that the traffic with Hubs matures which means that I need to get more Hubs out earlier and that hopefully traffic should then grow over time so what are my Goals:

So these are my targets for each month, I am looking to increase my monthly clicks through organic searches by 22%. This is what I will monitor progress against.
I will write a monthly Hub reviewing my progress and any new techniques or tips I have learnt or been told and lets see how it goes.

Your ideas and suggestions are great. I have been using several business sites for back linking. They have at least one page on facebook that is strictly for back linking. That site actually does more for hubs than anything I have found.
For me it works two ways, I send business prospects there to link their blogs and while they are there they look my work up. This lets them find out who I am better than anything else I can do.
I have been told an account at StumbledUpon with your blogs sent to it is the best way to get readers and backlinks. Don't know if it is true or not. I can't remember which hubber told me that.

@wheelinallover thank you for your detailed feedback. Glad you liked some of the suggestions. I'll have a look at the business page on facebook idea,I think that would be great fro my business hubs, but not so great for my more personal hubs, what are your thoughts on that?
Stumbledupon has been hit and miss for me as has reddit, but I will continue to post because it's link and it gets a little traffic. I am getting some hubs with decent Search engine traffic just trying to work out what i did right on those :p

Thank you so much alocsin, indeed having solid goals is a very useful and it helps you drive forwards Numbers give me a quantifiable way of monitoring my progress and whilst they may not be 100% accurate, I will be able to realign them when more information comes to light, as long as my final target remains the same. The facebook fan page, that is what it is called and it is also what it is. We use articles the nine year old helped write that have nothing to do with business. The fan page is to build interest in you as a company but more so you as a person. The more "personal" things you share the more likes you are going to get.
Our plan at the moment is to JV with a friend in Ireland who always has something of interest to share. In our case we are waiting for a website that integrates with facebook. It is due today but we are not holding our breath, it's over a month overdue.
We want to draw people to the fan page thus get visitors to the website. We integrated our social page from another program a few weeks ago. The social page is where our business offerings are.
We had an emergency last night which cost business hours and is going to cost more so I need to keep moving.

Thank you for more of your advice, I am going to set up a FB fan page next week for my Entrepreneur website, as i really do need to start on the social media marketing. That is interesting about sharing personal experiences, but then i guess that makes sense that your fans then feel as though they are listening to a person rather than a corprate machine.

We as a corporation support two households. The emergency stemmed from the other house. A fall down a flight of stairs ended with a broken foot for one of the residents there. She is the one who watches the children over the weekend so the children are all "at corporate headquarters". In total there are 15 children who have been through here in the past year and a half. Luckily there are only eight in residence at the two houses currently. One of the former residents will be coming for the children in about an hour. She is going to take the ones who live at the other house and her two until Monday.
I started working with an associate last night who is not properly using her fan page. She isn't far off, we are working on optimizing hits and likes. One thing we know is never force someone to like your page to see it. People like to feel they are given a choice. It is also true the best place to get a like for a fan page is not even on facebook. Just a few things to think about.

Social media marketing and networking are working wonders for our business. It takes time so we are working on hiring someone who knows this area well and who can just work those areas. People who have joined with us as their sponsor and in a few cases our sponsors have helped also.
You want to create a sense of community and belonging to those you sponsor. Helping each other benefits everyone. We find that each is stronger in a certain area and most are willing to share their area of expertise if approached properly.

@wheelinalover sorry to hear about the fall, hope all is recovered now. No you are right you should never force anyone to like anything, choice is an important factor. Good luck finding an SMO expert. People are often happy to share their experiences with others, I found this out when i put out a call to interview successful entrepreneurs got over 100 replies which was pretty impressive I thought.
We think we have found our SMO. We won't know for another week and will be interviewing a few more.
Both people are recovering from their falls. We are waiting now to find out if one still has their job. She hasn't been allowed to work with her foot brace, and has been told she has been replaced.
People who feel forced as a general rule run the other way as fast as possible.
Over 100 successful entrepreneurs is impressive.

The best way to get a reply, ask a question. First back to the subject Organic search results on one platform are up, on hub pages they are down from Google US and up from UK,PH, and another I can't remember. Facebook has been sending a few readers also. Hubs have been placed there not with the idea of getting readers but for the high PR ranked backlink.
If my foot is any indication it will be another three weeks for her foot to come out of the brace. The brace is what is keeping her from working. Her employer requires shoes with a closed toe.
Well even a week and a into the challange and it being a sunday, my lowest traffic day, my clicks from organic search results are up to 167, so i am well on my way to hitting this months traffic, as long as i continue writing and back linking things should keep moving. Google.com is being very good to me at the moment and a couple that have been published just over a week are already seeing search engine traffic,even though it is very small amounts, also the cake pop hub I have published is massively building in traffic which is great. Yeah i guess that's a good plan. High PR links are tough to get, without guest blogging and the like.
oh ok, well I hope it all works out for the best and she gets back to work as soon as possible.
